सानूनिवाद्रे: संसुप्तान् दृष्टवा भ्रातृून् महामति: । सुखं प्रसुप्तान् प्रस्विन्न: खिन्न: कष्टां दशां गत:
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | sānu-nīvādreḥ saṃsuptān dṛṣṭvā bhrātṝn mahāmatiḥ | sukhaṃ prasuptān prasvinnaḥ khinnaḥ kaṣṭāṃ daśāṃ gataḥ | dharmaputro mahābāhur vilalāpa suvistaram ||
ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ କହିଲେ— ପୃଥିବୀରେ ପର୍ବତଶିଖର ସଦୃଶ ପଡ଼ିଥିବା ଭାଇମାନଙ୍କୁ, ଯେନେ ସେମାନେ ସୁଖନିଦ୍ରାରେ ଶୁଇଛନ୍ତି, ଏଭଳି ଦେଖି ମହାମତି ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର ଭିତରେ ଭାଙ୍ଗିପଡ଼ିଲେ। ଭୟଙ୍କର ସତ୍ୟ ବୁଝିବା ସହିତ ସେଙ୍କର ସର୍ବାଙ୍ଗରୁ ପସିନା ଛୁଟିଲା; ସେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ କଷ୍ଟଦାୟକ ଦଶାକୁ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲେ। ଶୋକ ଓ ଚିନ୍ତାରେ ଡୁବିଥିବା ମହାବାହୁ ଧର୍ମପୁତ୍ର ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର ଦୀର୍ଘ ସମୟ ଵିଲାପ କଲେ।
