Bhadravaṭa Procession and Skanda’s Neutralization of Mahiṣa
बृहद्रथस्य प्रणिधि: काश्यपस्य महत्तर: । भानुरज्धिरसो धीर: पुत्रो वर्चस्य सौभर:
bṛhadrathasya praṇidhiḥ kāśyapasya mahattaraḥ | bhānur aṅgirasaḥ dhīraḥ putro varcasya saubharaḥ ||
ମାର୍କଣ୍ଡେୟ କହିଲେ—ବୃହଦ୍ରଥଙ୍କ ଅଂଶରୁ ପ୍ରଣିଧି ଜନ୍ମିଲେ, କାଶ୍ୟପଙ୍କ ଅଂଶରୁ ମହତ୍ତର; ଅଙ୍ଗିରସଙ୍କ ଅଂଶରୁ ଧୀର ଭାନୁ, ଏବଂ ବର୍ଚ୍ଚସଙ୍କ ଅଂଶରୁ ସୌଭର ନାମକ ପୁତ୍ର ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହେଲେ।
मार्कण्डेय उवाच

Mārkaṇḍeya is recounting a genealogical sequence, naming sons and associating each with an earlier eminent figure (Bṛhadratha, Kaśyapa, Aṅgiras, Varcas), thereby situating the characters within a recognized rishi/royal lineage framework.
