दशवर्षसहस््राणि तपस्तप्त्वा महातपा: । जनयत्‌ पावकं घोरं पितृणां स प्रजा: सृजन्‌

Transliteration

daśavarṣasahasrāṇi tapastaptvā mahātapāḥ | janayat pāvakaṃ ghoraṃ pitṝṇāṃ sa prajāḥ sṛjan |

Translation

ମାର୍କଣ୍ଡେୟ କହିଲେ—ମହାତପସ୍ବୀ ପାଞ୍ଚଜନ୍ୟ ଦଶହଜାର ବର୍ଷ ଧରି ଘୋର ତପ କଲେ। ପିତୃବଂଶ ଚାଲୁ ରଖିବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇ ସେ ଭୟଙ୍କର ପବିତ୍ର ଅଗ୍ନିକୁ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ କଲେ ଏବଂ ପରେ ପ୍ରଜାସୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ପ୍ରବୃତ୍ତ ହେଲେ।
