संचयेन तथाल्पेन भवन्त्याब्यमदान्विता: । धनं विश्वासतो न्यस्तं मिथो भूयिष्ठशो नरा:

Transliteration

saṃcayena tathālpēna bhavanty abhyamadānvitāḥ | dhanaṃ viśvāsato nyastaṃ mitho bhūyiṣṭhaśo narāḥ, rājan |

Translation

ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ କହିଲେ—ରାଜନ, ଅଳ୍ପ ଧନ ସଞ୍ଚୟ ହେଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଲୋକେ ସମୃଦ୍ଧିର ମଦରେ ଉନ୍ମତ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। ଏବଂ ବିଶ୍ୱାସରେ ନିକ୍ଷେପ (ଧରୋହର) ଭାବେ ରଖା ଧନକୁ ଅନେକେ ପରସ୍ପର ମିଶି ହଡ଼ପ କରିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରନ୍ତି ଓ ନିର୍ଲଜ୍ଜ ହୋଇ କହନ୍ତି—‘ଏଠାରେ ତୁମର କିଛି ନାହିଁ।’
