राम उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic self-discipline: undertaking vows and bathing at tīrthas symbolizes inner purification, restraint, and the pursuit of merit through regulated conduct rather than mere desire or power.
Rāma lists a sequence of sacred locations—Prayāga, divine sacrificial grounds and forests, Bhogavatī, and Kauśika’s hermitage—indicating that the woman being described traveled to these tīrthas and performed ritual bathing while observing strict vows.
