The verse highlights the ethical tension between righteous courage and the use of harsh, condemnatory speech: a speaker claims heroic propriety in a martial assembly while morally censuring the addressee and insisting the message be faithfully conveyed to the father, stressing accountability and the gravity of counsel before war.
Sañjaya reports a forceful statement delivered in a council of warriors: the speaker asserts that his words are worthy of a proud hero, commands the addressed person to listen, and instructs him to carry the message to his father—framing the exchange as a pointed communication within the escalating conflict of the Udyoga Parva.
