Adhyāya 128 — Proposal to Restrain Keśava; Sātyaki’s Warning and Vidura–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Counsel
गच्छ तात महाप्राज्ञां गान्धारीं दीर्घदर्शिनीम् । आनयेह तया सार्धमनुनेष्यामि दुर्मतिम्
gaccha tāta mahāprājñāṃ gāndhārīṃ dīrghadarśinīm | ānayeha tayā sārdham anuneṣyāmi durmatim ||
ତାତ, ମହାପ୍ରାଜ୍ଞା ଦୀର୍ଘଦର୍ଶିନୀ ଗାନ୍ଧାରୀଙ୍କୁ ଏଠାକୁ ଆଣ। ତାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ରହି ମୁଁ ସେଇ ଦୁର୍ମତିକୁ ଉପଦେଶ ଦେଇ ସଂଯତ କରିବି।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Wise counsel should be sought from those with foresight and moral clarity; even an ill-intentioned person should first be approached through guidance and restraint before conflict escalates.
The speaker instructs someone to fetch Gandhārī, described as profoundly wise and far-seeing, intending to speak with her present in order to admonish and rein in an ill-minded figure—implicitly within the tense pre-war deliberations of the Udyoga Parva.
