Dharma-Pramāṇa-Vicāra: The Elusiveness of Dharma and the Limits of Rule-Lists
यथा मरीच्य: सहिताश्षरन्ति सर्वत्र तिष्ठन्ति च दृश्यमाना: । देहैविमुक्तानि चरन्ति लोकां- स्तथैव सत्त्वान्यतिमानुषाणि
yathā marīcyaḥ sahitāḥ śaranti sarvatra tiṣṭhanti ca dṛśyamānāḥ | dehair vimuktāni caranti lokāṁs tathaiva sattvāny atimānuṣāṇi ||
ବ୍ୟାସ କହିଲେ—ଯେପରି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟର କିରଣମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଧାରାବାହି ହୁଅନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ସର୍ବତ୍ର ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ଭଳି ଦୃଶ୍ୟମାନ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ସେପରି ଦେହରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ଅତିମାନୁଷ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ ସତ୍ତ୍ୱମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକରେ ବିଚରଣ କରନ୍ତି; ଏହା କେବଳ ଜ୍ଞାନଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଜଣାଯାଏ॥
व्यास उवाच
The verse teaches that certain beings, once freed from the gross body, can move through multiple realms; this subtle truth is apprehended not by ordinary sense-perception but by jñāna (spiritual insight).
Vyāsa is explaining an unseen metaphysical process using a visible analogy: as sunbeams are perceived everywhere while continuously streaming, so liberated-from-body beings can traverse the worlds—knowable only through the perspective of knowledge.
