मनवे सूर्यपुत्राय ददु: खड्गं सुविस्तरम्‌ । बेटा! फिर महेन्द्रने लोकपालोंको और लोकपालोंने सूर्य-पुत्र मननुको वह विशाल खड्ग दे दिया

Transliteration

manave sūryaputrāya daduḥ khaḍgaṃ suvistaram |

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ସେମାନେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟପୁତ୍ର ମନୁଙ୍କୁ ସେଇ ବିଶାଳ ଓ ପ୍ରବଳ ଖଡ୍ଗ ପ୍ରଦାନ କଲେ। ଏହି କଥାପ୍ରବାହରେ ଏହା ଦିବ୍ୟ ଅନୁମୋଦନରେ ଧର୍ମରକ୍ଷାର ଉପକରଣ—ଯାହା କେବଳ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ବଳରେ ନୁହେଁ, ଉଚ୍ଚତର ସ୍ୱୀକୃତି ଓ ବୈଧ ଅଧିକାରରେ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଶାସକଙ୍କୁ ଅର୍ପିତ ହୁଏ।
