Educational Q&A

Outwardly polite invitations and luxurious settings can conceal moral danger. A ruler must exercise restraint and discernment, especially when a ‘friendly game’ risks becoming a trap that endangers dharma, family, and sovereignty.

A message is to be delivered inviting Yudhiṣṭhira and his brothers to come see the magnificent gem-studded hall and to begin a ‘friendly’ dice game there—setting the stage for the famous gambling episode.
