अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः

तदिदं समनुप्राप्तं वचन दीर्घदर्शिन: । उनकी इस बातको न माननेके कारण अवश्य ही मेरा पुत्र शोक कर रहा है। दूरदर्शी भीष्मजीकी वह बात आज सफल होकर सामने आयी है

Transliteration

tad idaṃ samanupprāptaṃ vacanaṃ dīrghadarśinaḥ |

Translation

ଧୃତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ମନେ ଭାବିଲେ—ଦୂରଦର୍ଶୀ ଭୀଷ୍ମଙ୍କ ଯେ ଉପଦେଶ ଏକଦା କୁହାଯାଇଥିଲା, ସେହି କଥା ଆଜି ମୋ ଆଖି ସାମ୍ନାରେ ସତ୍ୟ ହୋଇ ଦେଖାଦେଲା। ମୋ ପୁଅ ସେ କଥା ମାନିଲା ନାହିଁ, ତେଣୁ ସେ ଅନିବାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଭାବେ ଶୋକରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ; ଯୁଦ୍ଧର କଠୋର ବାସ୍ତବତାରେ ଭୀଷ୍ମଙ୍କ ସତର୍କବାଣୀ ସତ୍ୟ ସାବିତ ହେଲା।
