अभ्यद्रवन्त समरे भीम॑ भीमपराक्रमम् । प्रभो! उस शूरवीरकों मारा गया देख उसके भाई समरभूमिमें भयंकर पराक्रमी भीमसेनपर सब ओरसे टूट पड़े
abhyadravanta samare bhīmaṁ bhīmaparākramam | prabho! taṁ śūravīraṁ hataṁ dṛṣṭvā tasya bhrātaraḥ samarabhūmau bhayaṅkara-parākramiṇaṁ bhīmasenam sarvataḥ samantāt pratyapatanta |
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—ସମରରେ ସେମାନେ ଭୀମପରାକ୍ରମୀ ଭୀମଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଧାଇଲେ। ପ୍ରଭୋ, ସେହି ଶୂରବୀର ହତ ହୋଇଥିବା ଦେଖି, ତାଙ୍କର ଭାଇମାନେ ଶୋକ ଓ ଧର୍ମବୋଧରେ ଉଦ୍ଦୀପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ରଣଭୂମିରେ ସବୁ ଦିଗରୁ ଭୀମସେନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପଡ଼ିଲେ।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya impulse of responding to a comrade’s death with collective retaliation—showing how grief and duty can intensify violence, and how valor in war often escalates cycles of retribution.
After a heroic warrior is seen slain, his brothers rush from all directions to attack Bhīmasena in the battle, recognizing him as a terrifyingly powerful opponent.
