ହିମାଚ୍ଛାଦିତ ପର୍ବତରେ ଅବସ୍ଥାନ କରି ସେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ କଠୋର ତପସ୍ୟା କଲେ—ବାହୁ ଉପରକୁ ଉଠାଇ। ମହାତେଜସ୍ବୀ ସେ ଅଗ୍ନି ଓ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସମ ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ ଥିଲେ।
