नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

तथा नष्ट तमो घोरें दीपैर्दीप्तैरितस्ततः । जैसे सूर्यके प्रकाशसे सम्पूर्ण जगत्में फैला हुआ अन्धकार नष्ट हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार इधर-उधर जलती हुई मशालोंसे वहाँका भयानक अँधेरा नष्ट हो गया था
sañjaya uvāca | tathā naṣṭaṃ tamo ghore dīpair dīptair itas tataḥ |
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—ଯେପରି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟର ପ୍ରକାଶ ସମଗ୍ର ଜଗତରେ ବ୍ୟାପିଥିବା ଅନ୍ଧକାରକୁ ନଶ୍ଟ କରେ, ସେପରି ଏଠି-ସେଠି ଜ୍ୱଳୁଥିବା ମଶାଳମାନଙ୍କ ତେଜରେ ସେଠାର ଭୟଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଦୂର ହୋଇଗଲା। ଯୁଦ୍ଧର ଭୟ ଓ ବିଭ୍ରାନ୍ତି ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ଆଲୋକ କେବଳ ରକ୍ଷାର ଉପାୟ ନୁହେଁ, ବିପଦ ଉପରେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟତାର ପ୍ରତୀକ ମଧ୍ୟ ଥିଲା।
