अमानुषेण रूपेण चरन्तं पितरं तव । उस समय रणक्षेत्रमें अद्भुत कर्म करते हुए आपके ताऊ भीष्म अमानुषरूपसे विचरते तथा पाण्डव-सेनाका संहार करते थे। वहाँ अनेक प्रकारके मनुष्य उनके सम्बन्धमें नाना प्रकारकी बातें कर रहे थे
amānuṣeṇa rūpeṇa carantaṃ pitaraṃ tava |
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—“ସେ ସମୟରେ ରଣକ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ତୁମ ପୂଜ୍ୟ ଜ୍ୟେଷ୍ଠ ଭୀଷ୍ମ ମାନବସୀମାତୀତ ରୂପରେ ବିଚରଣ କରୁଥିଲେ। ଅଦ୍ଭୁତ କର୍ମ କରି ସେ ପାଣ୍ଡବସେନାକୁ ସଂହାର କରୁଥିଲେ। ଏହା ଦେଖି ସେଠାରେ ଅନେକ ଲୋକ ତାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ନାନା ପ୍ରକାର କଥା କହୁଥିଲେ—ଯେଉଁଠି ଯେମିତି ବୁଝିଲା, ସେମିତି ମତ ଦେଉଥିଲା।”
