युधिष्ठिरं तु कौन्तेयं महत्या सेनया वृतम्‌ । भीष्माभिमुखमायान्तं भारद्वाजो न्यवारयत्‌

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhiraṃ tu kaunteyaṃ mahatyā senayā vṛtam | bhīṣmābhimukham āyāntaṃ bhāradvājo nyavārayat || (tatra yuddham abhūd ghoraṃ tayoḥ puruṣasiṃhayoḥ |)

Translation

ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—ବିଶାଳ ସେନାରେ ଘେରା ଥିବା କୌନ୍ତେୟ ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର, ଯିଏ ଭୀଷ୍ମଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖକୁ ସିଧା ଆଗେଇ ଆସୁଥିଲେ, ତାଙ୍କୁ ଭାରଦ୍ୱାଜପୁତ୍ର ଦ୍ରୋଣାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ରୋକିଦେଲେ। ସେଠାରେ ସେଇ ଦୁଇ ପୁରୁଷସିଂହଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଘୋର ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେଲା—ଯେଉଁଠି କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ ଓ ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ଧର୍ମନିଷ୍ଠଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ହିଂସ୍ର ସଂଘର୍ଷରେ ବାନ୍ଧି ଦିଏ।
