Chatra–Upānah Dāna: Origin Narrative
Jamadagni–Reṇukā–Sūrya Saṃvāda
प्रययुस्ते ततो भूयस्तीर्थानि वनगोचरा: । पुण्येषु तीर्थेषु तथा गात्राण्याप्लावयन्त ते
prayayus te tato bhūyas tīrthāni vanagocarāḥ | puṇyeṣu tīrtheṣu tathā gātrāṇy āplāvayanta te ||
ତାପରେ ସେହି ବନବାସୀ ଯାତ୍ରୀମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ତୀର୍ଥଯାତ୍ରାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ। ପୁଣ୍ୟତୀର୍ଥରେ ଏକ ପରେ ଏକ ଯାଇ ଜଳରେ ଡୁବି ସ୍ନାନ କରି, ଯାତ୍ରାଦ୍ୱାରା ନିଜକୁ ପବିତ୍ର କଲେ।
अगस्त्य उवाच
The verse highlights tīrtha-yātrā and ritual bathing as acts of purification and renewal. Ethically, it points to disciplined movement toward sacred spaces and practices that cleanse and reorient a person toward dharma.
Agastya describes a group of forest-travelers resuming their pilgrimage. They go from one holy tīrtha to another and immerse themselves in the waters, performing purificatory baths.
