भीष्म उवाच इत्युक्त्वा हेमगर्भाणि हित्वा तानि फलानि वै | ऋषयो जम्मुरन्यत्र सर्व एव धृतव्रता:
bhīṣma uvāca | ity uktvā hemagarbhāṇi hitvā tāni phalāni vai | ṛṣayo jagmur anyatra sarva eva dhṛtavratāḥ |
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର! ଏପରି କହି ସେ ସମସ୍ତ ଧୃତବ୍ରତ ମହର୍ଷି ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣଭରିତ ସେଇ ଫଳଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରି ସେଠାରୁ ଅନ୍ୟତ୍ର ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
भीष्म उवाच
Steadfastness in vows and dharma requires detachment: even attractive, wealth-laden offerings should be renounced when they threaten to distract from spiritual discipline and ethical resolve.
After making a statement (implied by “having said thus”), the sages abandon the gold-filled fruits and leave the place, demonstrating their firmness in vows and refusal to be swayed by material temptation.
