नैव लोभ॑ तदा चक्रुस्तत: स्वर्गमवाप्रुवन्‌

Transliteration

naiva lobhaṁ tadā cakrus tataḥ svargam avāpruvan

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ସେତେବେଳେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେମାନେ ଲୋଭକୁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ କଲେ ନାହିଁ; ତେଣୁ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ କଲେ। ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଭୁଖା ଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ, ମହାଜନମାନେ ନାନାଭୋଗରେ ପ୍ରଲୋଭିତ କରିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ, ସେଇ ମହାତ୍ମାମାନେ କାମ-ଇଚ୍ଛାର ବଶ ହେଲେ ନାହିଁ—ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗପଦ ଲାଭ କଲେ।
