Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
रौद्रे लोहितमित्याहुलोहितात् कनकं स्मृतम् । तन्मैत्रमिति विज्ञेयं धूमाच्च वसव: स्मृता:
raudre lohitam ity āhur lohitāt kanakaṃ smṛtam | tan maitram iti vijñeyaṃ dhūmāc ca vasavaḥ smṛtāḥ ||
ବସିଷ୍ଠ କହିଲେ—ରୌଦ୍ର ଭାବରେ ଏହାକୁ ‘ଲୋହିତ’ କୁହାଯାଏ; ସେହି ଲୋହିତରୁ ‘କନକ’ (ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ) ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହୁଏ ବୋଲି ସ୍ମୃତ। ସେ କନକକୁ ‘ମୈତ୍ର’—ମିତ୍ରତତ୍ତ୍ୱସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀ—ବୋଲି ଜାଣିବା ଉଚିତ; ଧୂମରୁ ବସୁମାନଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ପତ୍ତି କୁହାଯାଏ।
