Service to cows and the use of their sattvic products (milk, curd, ghee) are presented as dharmic supports for bodily well-being and for cultivating peace, with a traditional claim that they aid in purification from sin.
In Anushasana Parva’s instruction-setting, Bhishma continues advising on dharma and meritorious practices, here emphasizing the religious-ethical value of honoring cows and the purificatory status attributed to their products.
