शुभे पात्रे ये गुणा गोप्रदाने तावान्‌ दोषो ब्राह्मणस्वापहारे । सर्वावस्थं ब्राह्मणस्वापहारो दाराश्नैषां दूरतो वर्जनीया:

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | śubhe pātre ye guṇā gopradāne tāvān doṣo brāhmaṇasvāpahāre | sarvāvasthaṃ brāhmaṇasvāpahāro dārāś ca eṣāṃ dūrato varjanīyāḥ ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ଶୁଭ ପାତ୍ରକୁ ଗୋଦାନ କଲେ ଯେତେ ପୁଣ୍ୟ ହୁଏ, ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣର ଧନ ଅପହରଣ କଲେ ସେତେଇ ପାପ ହୁଏ। ତେଣୁ କୌଣସି ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣଙ୍କ ଧନ ହରଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ; ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସହ ଅନୁଚିତ ସମ୍ପର୍କ ତ ଦୂରରୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ବର୍ଜନୀୟ।
