पूपान् पुनर्वसौ दत्त्वा तथैवान्नानि शो भने । यशस्वी रूपसम्पन्नो बद्धन्नो जायते कुले
pūpān punarvasau dattvā tathaivānnāni śobhane | yaśasvī rūpasampanno baddhānno jāyate kule ||
ନାରଦ କହିଲେ—ହେ ଶୋଭନେ! ପୁନର୍ବସୁ ସମୟରେ ପୂପ (ମିଠା ପିଠା) ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ନ ଦାନ କଲେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଉତ୍ତମ କୁଳରେ ଜନ୍ମ ନେଇଥାଏ; ସେଠାରେ ସେ ଯଶସ୍ବୀ, ରୂପସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ଓ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଅନ୍ନସମ୍ପଦରେ ସମୃଦ୍ଧ ହୁଏ।
नारद उवाच
Generous giving—especially of food and festive offerings at an auspicious time—creates merit that ripens as favorable life circumstances: birth in a good family, along with fame, beauty, and secure sustenance.
Nārada is explaining the results (phala) of a specific charitable act: donating sweet cakes and food during the Punarvasu observance. He states the auspicious outcomes that accrue to the donor in a future birth.
