क्वचिदप्सरसां संघान्‌ गन्धर्वाणां च पार्थिव

Transliteration

kvacid apsarasāṃ saṅghān gandharvāṇāṃ ca pārthiva | pṛthvīnātha! kvacid jhuṇḍa-kī-jhuṇḍa apsarāḥ vihāraṃ kurvanti sma | kvacid gandharvāṇāṃ samudāyāḥ svapriyatamānām āliṅgana-pāśe baddhāḥ santi sma | tān sarvān rājā dadarśa | te kadācid enaṃ dṛśyante sma kadācin na dṛśyante sma ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ହେ ରାଜନ୍, ପୃଥ୍ୱୀନାଥ! କେଉଁଠି ଅପ୍ସରାମାନଙ୍କ ଦଳ ଆନନ୍ଦରେ ବିହାର କରୁଥିଲେ; ଅନ୍ୟତ୍ର ଗନ୍ଧର୍ବମାନଙ୍କ ସମୁଦାୟ ନିଜ ପ୍ରିୟତମାଙ୍କ ଆଲିଙ୍ଗନ-ପାଶରେ ବନ୍ଧା ପରି ଦେଖାଯାଉଥିଲା। ରାଜା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିଲେ—କିନ୍ତୁ କେବେ ଦେଖିପାରୁଥିଲେ, କେବେ ପାରୁନଥିଲେ।
