तत्पाणिग्रहणात् पूर्वमन्तरं यत्र वर्तते । सर्वमड्रलमन्त्रं वै मृषावादस्तु पातक:
tat-pāṇigrahaṇāt pūrvam antaraṃ yatra vartate | sarva-maṅgala-mantraṃ vai mṛṣāvādas tu pātakaḥ ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ପାଣିଗ୍ରହଣ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଯେଉଁଠି ଅନ୍ତର କିମ୍ବା ବାଧା ହୋଇଯାଏ—ସମସ୍ତ ମଙ୍ଗଳାଚାର ଓ ମନ୍ତ୍ରପ୍ରୟୋଗ ହୋଇଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ—ତେବେ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ବରକୁ ଦିଆଗଲେ, ଦାତାଙ୍କୁ କେବଳ ମିଥ୍ୟାଭାଷଣର ପାପ ଲାଗେ।
