न चैतेभ्य: प्रदातव्या न वोढव्या तथाविधा । न होव भार्या क्रेतव्या न विक्रय्या कथंचन

Transliteration

na caitebhyaḥ pradātavyā na voḍhavyā tathāvidhā | naiva bhāryā kretavyā na vikrayyā kathaṃcana ||

Translation

ଏପରି ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ କନ୍ୟା ଦେବା ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ, ଏବଂ ଏଭଳି ଭାବେ ‘ବିକ୍ରି’ ହେଉଥିବା କନ୍ୟାକୁ ବିବାହ କରିବା ମଧ୍ୟ ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ; କାରଣ ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟା କେବେ ମଧ୍ୟ କ୍ରୟ-ବିକ୍ରୟର ବସ୍ତୁ ନୁହେଁ।
