आगतानागते चोभे ब्राह्मणो द्विपदं वर: । ब्राह्मणो भरतश्रेष्ठ स्वरधर्म चैव वेद यः:

Transliteration

āgatānāgate cobhe brāhmaṇo dvipadaṃ varaḥ | brāhmaṇo bharataśreṣṭha svadharmaṃ caiva veda yaḥ ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ ଦ୍ୱିପଦମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ; କାରଣ ସେ ଭୂତ ଓ ଅନାଗତ—ଦୁହେଁ ଜାଣେ। ହେ ଭରତଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ, ଯେ ନିଜ ସ୍ୱଧର୍ମକୁ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ଜାଣି ତାହାନୁସାରେ ଆଚରଣ କରେ, ସେଇ ପ୍ରକୃତ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ।
