On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation
śakra uvāca | anyaṃ varaṃ vṛṇīṣva tvaṃ durlabho ’yaṃ hi te varaḥ |

True spiritual status (such as Brahminhood) is tied to inner discipline—especially mastery of the mind—rather than mere desire or demand; without self-control, such a state is declared practically unattainable.
Indra (Śakra), responding to a request for a boon, discourages the seeker from asking for Brahminhood, calling it difficult to obtain for them, and urges them to choose a different boon instead.
