श्मश्रुकर्मणि मड़ल्यं क्षुतानामभिनन्दनम्‌ । व्याधितानां च सर्वेषामायुषामभिनन्दनम्‌

Transliteration

śmaśrukarmaṇi māṅgalyaṁ kṣutānām abhinandanam | vyādhitānāṁ ca sarveṣām āyuṣām abhinandanam ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ମୁଛ ଓ ଦାଢ଼ି କାଟିବା/ସଜାଇବା ସମୟରେ ମଙ୍ଗଳସୂଚକ ବଚନ କହିବା ଉଚିତ। ଯେ କେହି ଛିଙ୍କେ, ତାକୁ ‘ଶତଞ୍ଜୀବୀ ହେଉ’ ଇତ୍ୟାଦି କହି ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ଦେବା ଉଚିତ; ଏବଂ ରୋଗଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଦୀର୍ଘାୟୁର ଶୁଭକାମନା ସହ ଅଭିନନ୍ଦନ କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
