पराक्रमैस्तेडपि तदा व्यघ्नन्नत्रिसुरक्षिता: । उद्धासितश्न सविता देवास्त्राता हतासुरा:

Transliteration

parākramais te ’pi tadā vyaghnaṁn atrisurakṣitāḥ | uddhāsitaś ca savitā devās trātā hatāsurāḥ ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ— ତେବେ ଅତ୍ରିଙ୍କ ସୁରକ୍ଷାରେ ଥିବା ଦେବତାମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ନିଜ ପରାକ୍ରମରେ ଶତ୍ରୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କରି ନିଧନ କଲେ। ସବିତା (ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ) ପୁନଃ ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ ହେଲେ; ଦେବତାମାନେ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଲେ; ଅସୁରମାନେ ନଶ୍ଟ ହେଲେ। ଅତ୍ରିଙ୍କ ତପୋତେଜରେ ସେଇ ମହାଅସୁରମାନେ ଦଗ୍ଧ ହେଉଥିବା ଦେଖି, ନିର୍ଭୟ ଦେବତାମାନେ ଉଠି ଦୈତ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲେ; ଏହା ଦର୍ଶାଏ—ଧର୍ମମୟ ରକ୍ଷା ଓ ଅନ୍ତଃତପସ୍ୟା ସାହସକୁ ପ୍ରତିସ୍ଥାପିତ କରେନାହିଁ, ବରଂ ତାହାକୁ ସଫଳ କରେ।
