न व्याधिश्वापदभयं न द्विपान्न हि तस्करात् । कश्मलं लघुतां याति पाप्मना च प्रमुच्यते
na vyādhi-śvāpadabhayaṁ na dvipān na hi taskarāt | kaśmalaṁ laghutāṁ yāti pāpmānā ca pramucyate ||
ତାହାର ରୋଗର ଭୟ ନଥାଏ, ହିଂସ୍ର ପଶୁମାନଙ୍କର ଭୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ନଥାଏ; ହାତୀ କିମ୍ବା ଚୋର ଠାରୁ ମଧ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ବାଧା ଆସେ ନାହିଁ। ଶୋକ-କ୍ଲେଶ ହ୍ରାସ ପାଏ ଏବଂ ସେ ପାପରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହୁଏ।
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma teaches that adherence to a dharmic practice yields both worldly security (freedom from common dangers like illness, wild beasts, elephants, and thieves) and inner purification (relief from sorrow/confusion and release from sin).
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and the fruits of virtuous observances; here he summarizes the protective and purifying benefits that accrue to the practitioner.
