Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)
दिवि वा भुवि वा देव सर्व हि विदितं तव । “भगवन्! इसीलिये आपके रहते हुए भी हम अपने ओछेपनके कारण प्रलाप करते हैं ->छोटे मुँह बड़ी बात कर रहे हैं। देव! पृथ्वीपर या स्वर्गमें कोई भी ऐसी आश्वर्यकी बात नहीं है
divi vā bhuvi vā deva sarva hi viditaṃ tava |
ହେ ଦେବ! ସ୍ୱର୍ଗରେ ହେଉ କି ପୃଥିବୀରେ—ସବୁ କିଛି ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଜଣା। ପୃଥିବୀରେ କିମ୍ବା ଦିବ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କରେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଜ୍ଞାନର ପାରେ ଥିବା କୌଣସି ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ ନାହିଁ; ଆପଣ ସର୍ବଜ୍ଞ।
नारद उवाच
The verse teaches devotional humility: the speaker acknowledges the deity’s complete knowledge across all realms, implying that human boasting or anxious speech is misplaced before an omniscient divine presence.
Nārada addresses a deity with reverence, affirming that whether in heaven or on earth nothing is unknown to him; it functions as a praise statement that frames the deity as all-knowing and worthy of trust.
