Śatarudrīya-prabhāva and Rudra’s Supremacy (शतरुद्रीयप्रभावः)
(गीर्भि: परमशुद्धाभिस्तुष्टवुश्च मनोहरम् ।।
gīrbhiḥ paramaśuddhābhis tuṣṭuvuś ca manoharam | vimuktāḥ sarvapāpebhyaḥ kṣāntā vigatakalmaṣāḥ || tasya bhūtapateḥ sthānaṃ bhīmarūpadharaṃ babhau ||
ନାରଦ କହିଲେ—ପରମ ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ବାଣୀଦ୍ୱାରା ସେ ଋଷିମାନେ ମନୋହର ସ୍ତୁତି କଲେ। ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ପାପରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ, କ୍ଷମାଶୀଳ ଓ କଲ୍ମଷରହିତ; ଶଙ୍କରଙ୍କ ଦର୍ଶନ କରି ଭୂମିରେ ଶିର ରଖି ପ୍ରଣାମ କଲେ। ତାପରେ ଭୂତପତିଙ୍କ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନ ଭୀମରୂପ ଧାରଣ କରି ପ୍ରକଟ ହେଲା।
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical-spiritual power of inner purity (vigatakalmaṣa), freedom from wrongdoing (vimukta from pāpa), and forbearance (kṣānti). Such qualities make devotion truthful and effective, culminating in a direct manifestation of the divine presence.
A group of great sages, described as purified and sinless, bow down to Śaṅkara and praise him with pure speech. In response or as a consequence of this sacred encounter, the abode or station of Bhūtapati (Śiva) becomes manifest in a formidable, awe-inspiring form.
