राजर्षि मदिराश्व अपनी सुन्दरी कन्या विप्रवर हिरण्यहस्तको देकर देवताओंके लोकमें चले गये ।।

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | lomapādaś ca rājarṣiḥ śāntāṃ dattvā sutāṃ prabhuḥ | ṛṣyaśṛṅgāya vipulaiḥ sarvaiḥ kāmair ayujyata ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ରାଜର୍ଷି ମଦିରାଶ୍ୱ ନିଜ ସୁନ୍ଦରୀ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ବିପ୍ରବର ହିରଣ୍ୟହସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇ ଦେବଲୋକକୁ ଗଲେ। ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଭାବଶାଳୀ ରାଜର୍ଷି ଲୋମପାଦ ‘ଶାନ୍ତା’ ନାମକ ନିଜ କନ୍ୟାକୁ ମୁନିବର ଋଷ୍ୟଶୃଙ୍ଗଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହଦାନ କରି, ବିପୁଳ ସମୃଦ୍ଧିରେ ଯୁକ୍ତ ହେଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ସଫଳ ହେଲା। ଏହା ଦର୍ଶାଏ—ସତ୍ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମାନ ଓ ତପସ୍ବୀଙ୍କୁ ସହାୟତା କଲେ ଇହଲୋକ-ପରଲୋକ ଉଭୟରେ କଲ୍ୟାଣ ମିଳେ।
