पिण्डं तु मध्यमं तत्र पत्नी त्वेका समश्षुते । पिण्डस्तृतीयो यस्तेषां तै दद्याज्जातवेदसि
piṇḍaṃ tu madhyamaṃ tatra patnī tv ekā samaśnute | piṇḍas tṛtīyo yas teṣāṃ taṃ dadyāj jātavedasi ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ— “ସେଠି ମଧ୍ୟ ପିଣ୍ଡ କେବଳ ପତ୍ନୀ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବେ; ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତୃତୀୟ ପିଣ୍ଡ ଜାତବେଦସ୍—ଅଗ୍ନି—ରେ ଅର୍ପଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ।”
