अन्नदानफलं (Anna-dāna-phala) / The Fruit of Food-Giving

भाद्रपदमासकी द्वादशी तिथिको उपवासपूर्वक हृषीकेश नामसे भगवान्‌की पूजा करनेवाला मनुष्य सौत्रामणि यज्ञका फल पाता और पवित्रात्मा होता है ।।

Transliteration

bhādrapadamāsakī dvādaśī tithau upavāsapūrvakaṃ hṛṣīkeśa-nāmase bhagavataḥ pūjāṃ kurvan manuṣyaḥ sautrāmaṇi-yajñasya phalaṃ prāpnoti ca pavitrātmā bhavati || dvādaśyām āśvine māsi padmanābheti cārcayan go-sahasra-phalaṃ puṇyaṃ prāptuyān nātra saṃśayaḥ ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ଭାଦ୍ରପଦମାସର ଦ୍ୱାଦଶୀରେ ଉପବାସପୂର୍ବକ ‘ହୃଷୀକେଶ’ ନାମରେ ଭଗବାନଙ୍କୁ ପୂଜା କରୁଥିବା ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ସୌତ୍ରାମଣି ଯଜ୍ଞର ଫଳ ପାଏ ଏବଂ ପବିତ୍ରାତ୍ମା ହୁଏ। ଏହିପରି ଆଶ୍ୱିନମାସର ଦ୍ୱାଦଶୀରେ ଦିନ-ରାତି ଉପବାସ ରଖି ‘ପଦ୍ମନାଭ’ ନାମରେ ଆର୍ଚ୍ଚନା କରୁଥିବା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ସହସ୍ର ଗୋଦାନ ସମ ପୁଣ୍ୟଫଳ ପାଏ—ଏଥିରେ ସନ୍ଦେହ ନାହିଁ।
