ज्योतिस्तेज: प्रकाशं वाप्यूर्ध्वगं चापि वर्ण्यते । प्रदानं तेजसां तस्मात्‌ तेजो वर्धयते नृणाम्‌

Transliteration

jyotistejaḥ prakāśaṃ vāpy ūrdhvagaṃ cāpi varṇyate | pradānaṃ tejasāṃ tasmāt tejo vardhayate nṛṇām ||

Translation

ଶୁକ୍ର କହିଲେ—ଜ୍ୟୋତିକୁ ତେଜ, ପ୍ରକାଶ ଏବଂ ଊର୍ଧ୍ୱଗାମୀ ଶକ୍ତି ବୋଲି ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରାଯାଏ। ତେଣୁ ଆଲୋକଦାୟକ ବସ୍ତୁର ଦାନ ମନୁଷ୍ୟର ତେଜକୁ ବଢ଼ାଏ—କାନ୍ତି, କୀର୍ତ୍ତି ଓ ଧର୍ମପ୍ରତାପ ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରେ।
