Adhyaya 8: Yogasthanas, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama-Siddhi, and Shiva-Dhyana leading to Samadhi
jñānena nirdahetpāpaṃ nirudhya viṣayān sadā niruddhendriyavṛttestu yogasiddhirbhaviṣyati
Suta Goswami (narrating the teaching within the Purva-Bhaga context)
It frames Linga-worship as inner purification: jñāna burns pāpa and restraint of viṣayas steadies the paśu, making the devotee fit for Śiva (Pati) through disciplined worship and meditation.
Śiva-tattva is implied as Pati—the liberating principle—attained when pāśa (sin, sensory bondage, restless vṛttis) is consumed by knowledge and yogic restraint.
Indriya-nigraha (restraint of the senses) and viṣaya-nirodha (withdrawing from sense-objects) as core Pāśupata-aligned Yoga disciplines that culminate in yoga-siddhi.
