Suta Goswami
It frames a crisis where Śrauta–Smārta observance is obstructed, implying the need to take refuge in Pati (Śiva) through Linga-centered devotion and discipline when external ritual order is disrupted.
By contrast: obstructors may appear “imperishable,” yet they act against Dharma; Śiva-tattva is the true Pati who restores dharma and releases the pashu from pasha through right knowledge and devotion.
The verse highlights vighna (obstruction) to Śrauta–Smārta rites; the practical takeaway in Shaiva Siddhanta is vighna-śānti through Śiva-upāsanā—steadfast japa, vrata, and Linga-pūjā aligned with dharma.
