Cosmic Abodes of Luminaries and the Shaiva Order of Time
सूर्याचन्द्रमसोर्दिव्ये मण्डले भास्वरे खगे जलतेजोमये शुक्ले वृत्तकुंभनिभे शुभे
sūryācandramasordivye maṇḍale bhāsvare khage jalatejomaye śukle vṛttakuṃbhanibhe śubhe
ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଓ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରଙ୍କ ଦିବ୍ୟ, ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ ଖଗୋଳମଣ୍ଡଳରେ—ଆକାଶେ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ—ଜଳ ଓ ତେଜରେ ଗଠିତ, ଶୁଭ, ଶ୍ୱେତ ଗୋଳକ ଜ୍ୟୋତିର୍ମୟ ହୋଇ ଦୀପ୍ତିତ; ସେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଗୋଳ କୁମ୍ଭ ସଦୃଶ।

It frames the cosmos as luminous and auspicious, preparing the devotee to contemplate the Liṅga as the supreme, all-pervading light (tejas) that shines through solar and lunar forms—supporting Liṅga-pūjā as worship of Pati beyond changing phenomena.
By emphasizing a radiant, pure, auspicious orb formed of tejas, it points to Śiva-tattva as the self-luminous reality underlying cosmic lights; the Sun and Moon become outer symbols of the inner, unbound light of Pati that frees the pashu from pāśa.
A contemplative upāsanā: meditating on the white, radiant maṇḍala (inner light/tejas) as a support for japa and dhyāna in a Pāśupata-oriented discipline, where purification and steadiness of awareness loosen the bonds (pāśa).
