Brahmā’s Creation: The Kumāras, Rudra, the Prajāpatis, and the Manifestation of Vedic Sound
evaṁ yukta-kṛtas tasya daivaṁ cāvekṣatas tadā kasya rūpam abhūd dvedhā yat kāyam abhicakṣate
Two bodies came out from the body of Brahmā. One had a mustache, and the other had swollen breasts. No one can explain the source of their manifestation, and therefore until today they are known as the kāyam, or the body of Brahmā, with no indication of their relationship as his son or daughter.
This verse shows both working together: Brahmā acts with careful, regulated effort while also observing daiva, and the resulting transformation occurs under that divine arrangement.
In the creation sequence, Brahmā’s forms transform according to the needs of progeny and cosmic manifestation; this verse marks a divinely guided division of his body into two.
Do your duties thoughtfully and responsibly (yukta-kṛta), while accepting outcomes with humility as guided by a higher order (daiva).
