Ajāmila Delivered: Viṣṇudūtas Establish the Supremacy of the Holy Name
so ’haṁ vyaktaṁ patiṣyāmi narake bhṛśa-dāruṇe dharma-ghnāḥ kāmino yatra vindanti yama-yātanāḥ
This verse states that those who destroy dharma and live lustfully face Yama’s punishments in dreadful hellish conditions.
Ajāmila laments his sinful, lust-driven life and recognizes that such adharma leads to Yamarāja’s torments; this is part of his awakening and remorse in the Ajāmila narrative.
Use it as a reminder to restrain lust and harmful habits, restore dharmic conduct, and cultivate sincere repentance that turns one toward devotion and reform.
