úpāstarī́r akaro lokám etám urúḥ práthatām ásamaḥ svargáḥ | tásmiñ chrāyātai mahiṣáḥ supárṇo devā́ enaṃ devátābhyaḥ prácyachān
Thou hast spread beneath and fashioned this ordered world: let Heaven, broad-expanding, peerless, stretch abroad. Thereon let the Buffalo, the Fair-winged, take his station; the Gods have dealt him forth unto the several Deities as portion.
Rishi: Traditionally Atharvanic/Angirasa milieu (cosmographic hymn-cycle; specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī tradition).
Devata: Svarga/Loka as personified goal; supporting figures (Mahīṣa, Suparṇa) and the collective Devas.
Chandas: Mixed/Triṣṭubh-like cadence in the pādas (edition-dependent scansion).
