ଏହି ଅଂଶଟି ପ୍ରଧାନତଃ ଏକ ସଂକ୍ରମଣ-ସୂଚକ; ବ୍ରତଖଣ୍ଡରେ ତିଥି-ଭିତ୍ତିକ ବ୍ରତ (ତିଥିବ୍ରତାନି) ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ପୂର୍ବ ଉପଦେଶ-କ୍ରମର ସମାପ୍ତି ଘୋଷଣା କରେ। କୋଲୋଫନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରତିଥିକୁ ଧର୍ମାନୁଷ୍ଠାନର କାଳ-ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶାଙ୍କ ଭାବେ ଧରି ଗଢ଼ା କ୍ୟାଲେଣ୍ଡରୀ ଶିଷ୍ଟାଚାର ପ୍ରଣାଳୀ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହେଲା ବୋଲି ଜଣାଯାଏ। ଏଠାରେ ତିଥିଚକ୍ର ଶେଷ କରି ସାଧକଙ୍କୁ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରଗଣନାରୁ ସୌର/ବାରଗଣନାକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରାଯାଏ, ଯାହା ଭୁକ୍ତି ଓ ମୁକ୍ତି—ଉଭୟକୁ ସହାୟକ ଅଗ୍ନିପୁରାଣୀୟ କ୍ରିୟା-ପ୍ରଯୁକ୍ତିର ଧାରାକୁ ଅବିଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ରଖେ।
