ଭଗବାନ ଅଗ୍ନି ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟା-ବ୍ରତରୁ ତୃତୀୟା-ବ୍ରତକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି, ଏହା ଭୁକ୍ତି ଓ ମୁକ୍ତି ଦେଇଥାଏ ବୋଲି କହନ୍ତି। ଚୈତ୍ର ଶୁକ୍ଳ ତୃତୀୟାରେ ମୂଳା-ଗୌରୀ ବ୍ରତ—ଗୌରୀଙ୍କ ହର (ଶିବ) ସହ ବିବାହସ୍ମରଣ—ତିଳସ୍ନାନ ଶୁଦ୍ଧିରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇ, ଗୌରୀସହ ଶମ୍ଭୁଙ୍କ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ପୂଜା ‘ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଫଳ’ ଆଦି ମଙ୍ଗଳ ଉପହାରରେ ବିଧିତ। ପରେ ମନ୍ତ୍ର-ନ୍ୟାସ/ଅଙ୍ଗ-ନ୍ୟାସର ଦୀର୍ଘ କ୍ରମ—ପାଦରୁ ଶିର ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅଙ୍ଗେ ଦିବ୍ୟ ନାମ-ଶକ୍ତିର ବିନ୍ୟାସ—ଦେହପୂଜାରେ ଶିବ-ଶକ୍ତି ତତ୍ତ୍ୱକୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରେ। ପୁଷ୍ପ, ସୁଗନ୍ଧ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ, ମାସାନୁସାରେ ଅର୍ପଣକ୍ରମ ଓ ଶେଷରେ ଦାନବିଧି—ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ ଦମ୍ପତିଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମାନ, ବସ୍ତୁସମୂହ ଦାନ, ଏବଂ ଗୋସହିତ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଉମା–ମହେଶ୍ୱର ପ୍ରତିମାଦାନ—ଉଲ୍ଲେଖିତ। ବୈଶାଖ, ଭାଦ୍ରପଦ/ନାଭସ୍ୟ, ମାର୍ଗଶୀର୍ଷରେ ବିକଳ୍ପ କାଳ, ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟାରେ ପୁନଃପୁନଃ ପୂଜା ସହ ମୃତ୍ୟୁଞ୍ଜୟ ଜପ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅଛି। ଶେଷରେ ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ-ବ୍ରତ (ବିଶେଷତଃ ଫାଲ୍ଗୁନ ତୃତୀୟାରେ ଲବଣତ୍ୟାଗ) ଓ ତୃତୀୟାଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ଦେବୀରୂପ କ୍ରମ କହି ସୌଭାଗ୍ୟ ଓ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗଫଳ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରାଯାଇଛି।
