Chapter 122 — Kāla-gaṇana (Computation of Time)
ଅଗ୍ନି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଗତି ଆଧାରିତ ସୁସଂଗଠିତ କାଳ-ଗଣନା (ସମାଗଣ) ଏବଂ ଚୈତ୍ରରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେଉଥିବା ଚାନ୍ଦ୍ରମାସ କ୍ରମକୁ ପ୍ରାଯୁକ୍ତିକ ଭାବେ ବ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟା କରନ୍ତି। ସଂଖ୍ୟାଶବ୍ଦ/ସଙ୍କେତ ଓ ସ୍ଥାନକ୍ରିୟା ଦ୍ୱାରା ନିୟମିତ ଗଣନା କରି ବାର, ତିଥି, ନାଡ଼ୀ/ଘଟିକା, ନକ୍ଷତ୍ର, ଯୋଗ ଓ କରଣ ଭଳି ପଞ୍ଚାଙ୍ଗ ଅଙ୍ଗ ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ ପଦ୍ଧତି ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ବିୟୋଗ, 60 ଦ୍ୱାରା ଗୁଣନ, ଭାଗଫଳ-ଶେଷ, ଋଣ/ନେଗେଟିଭ (‘ଦେୟ’) ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପରିଚାଳନା, ମାସାନୁସାରେ ସଂଶୋଧନ, ଏବଂ କିଛି ରାଶିରୁ ପ୍ରତିଲୋମ ଗଣନା ଭଳି ବିଶେଷ ନିୟମ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅଛି। ଅଶୌଚ କିମ୍ବା ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟାଭେଦରୁ ହୋଇଥିବା ତ୍ରୁଟି ପାଇଁ ଗଣିତୀୟ ତଫାତ ଅନୁପାତରେ ପ୍ରାୟଶ୍ଚିତ୍ତ-ହୋମାଦି ପ୍ରତିପୂରଣ ଅର୍ପଣ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ମିଳେ। ଶେଷରେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ-ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରମାନ ସମ କରି ଯୋଗ ସ୍ଥିର କରିବା ଓ ପ୍ରତିପଦାରେ କିନ୍ତୁଘ୍ନ ସହ କରଣ ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ ନିୟମ ଦେଇ, ଯଥାକାଳ କର୍ମ, ସାମାଜିକ ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳା ଓ ବିଶ୍ୱଧର୍ମ ସହ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ମେଳାଇବାର ଧାର୍ମିକ ପ୍ରଯୁକ୍ତି ଭାବେ କାଳଗଣନାକୁ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା କରାଯାଇଛି।
