Chapter 330 — Chandaḥ-sāra (Essence of Prosody): Chandojāti-nirūpaṇam (Determination of Metrical Jātis)
ଏହି ଅଧ୍ୟାୟରେ ଭଗବାନ ଅଗ୍ନି ଛନ୍ଦଃଶାସ୍ତ୍ରକୁ ସୁସଂଗଠିତ ଭାବେ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥିତ କରନ୍ତି। ମାତ୍ରା-ଗଣନା, ଅକ୍ଷର-ଲୋପ ନିୟମ ଓ ଗଣ-ରଚନାର ତର୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଛନ୍ଦୋଜାତି (ମାତ୍ରିକ ଶ୍ରେଣୀ) ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ ବ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟା କରାଯାଇଛି। ଆରମ୍ଭରେ ଉତ୍କୃତି ଓ ତାହାର ଉପଭେଦମାନଙ୍କର ବର୍ଗୀକରଣ, ଏବଂ ପରମ୍ପରାଭେଦରେ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟାୟନାମ (ଯଥା ଅତ୍ୟଷ୍ଟି = ଅଷ୍ଟି) ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ କରାଯାଏ। ଲୌକିକ ଓ ଆର୍ଷ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିଭେଦ ଦେଖାଇ ବୈଦିକ ମାପନ-ତତ୍ତ୍ୱ ସହ ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀୟ ପ୍ରୟୋଗକୁ ଯୋଡ଼ନ୍ତି; ପରେ ପାଦ-ଗଠନ ଓ ଗଣକୁ ଛନ୍ଦର ସର୍ବବ୍ୟାପୀ ମୂଳ ଘଟକ ଭାବେ ନିରୂପଣ କରନ୍ତି। ଆର୍ୟା ପରିବାରର ମାତ୍ରାଧାରିତ ଲକ୍ଷଣ, ବିଷମ/ସମ ପାଦ ନିୟମ, ବିପୁଳା-ଚପଳା-ମହାଚପଳା ଭେଦ, ଏବଂ ଗୀତି/ଉପଗୀତି/ଉଦ୍ଗୀତି ପରି ଗାୟନ-ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧୀୟ ସଂଜ୍ଞା ଆଲୋଚିତ। ପରେ ବୈତାଳୀୟ, ଦଶବିଧ ଗୋପୁଚ୍ଛନ୍ଦ ଯୋଜନା, ପ୍ରାଚ୍ୟବୃତ୍ତି-ଉଦୀଚ୍ୟବୃତ୍ତି ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା, ଏବଂ ଚାରୁହାସିନୀ, ଚାନ୍ତିକା, ଚିତ୍ରା, ଉପଚିତ୍ରା ଆଦି ନାମିତ ରୂପ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ଶେଷରେ ‘ଗୁ’ ପରି ସଙ୍କେତ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସ୍ମରଣ ଓ କୋଡିଂ ନୀତି ଦେଖାଇ ଛନ୍ଦର ସଂରକ୍ଷଣ ଓ ଗଣନାତ୍ମକ ନିଶ୍ଚୟକୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରାଯାଇଛି।
