Paramahansaparivrajaka

अथ पितामहः स्वपितरम् आदिनारायणम् उपसमेत्य प्रणम्य पप्रच्छ— भगवन्, त्वन्मुखाद् वर्णाश्रमधर्मक्रमं सर्वं श्रुतं विदितम् अवगतम्। इदानीं परमहंसपरिव्राजकलक्षणं वेदितुम् इच्छामि। कः परिव्रजनाधिकारी? कीदृशं परिव्राजकलक्षणम्? कः परमहंसः? परिव्राजकत्वं कथम्? तत्सर्वं मे ब्रूहीति। स होवाच भगवान् आदिनारायणः॥१॥

अथ । पितामहः । स्व-पितरम् । आदिनारायणम् । उपसमेत्य । प्रणम्य । पप्रच्छ । भगवन् । त्वत्-मुखात् । वर्ण-आश्रम-धर्म-क्रमम् । सर्वम् । श्रुतम् । विदितम् । अवगतम् । इदानीम् । परमहंस-परिव्राजक-लक्षणम् । वेदितुम् । इच्छामि । कः । परिव्रजन-अधिकारी । कीदृशम् । परिव्राजक-लक्षणम् । कः । परमहंसः । परिव्राजकत्वम् । कथम् । तत्-सर्वम् । मे । ब्रूहि । इति । सः । ह । उवाच । भगवान् । आदिनारायणः ।

atha pitāmahaḥ svapitaram ādinārāyaṇam upasametya praṇamya papraccha— bhagavan, tvanmukhād varṇāśramadharmakramaṃ sarvaṃ śrutaṃ viditam avagatam | idānīṃ paramahaṃsaparivrājakalakṣaṇaṃ veditum icchāmi | kaḥ parivrajanādhikārī? kīdṛśaṃ parivrājakalakṣaṇam? kaḥ paramahaṃsaḥ? parivrājakatvaṃ katham? tatsarvaṃ me brūhīti | sa hovāca bhagavān ādinārāyaṇaḥ ||1||

ထို့နောက် ပိတာမဟာသည် မိမိ၏ဖခင် အာဒီနာရာယဏ ထံသို့ ချဉ်းကပ်၍ ဦးညွှတ်ပူဇော်ကာ မေးလျှောက်၏— “အို ဘဂဝန်၊ သင်၏ပါးစပ်မှ ဗර්ဏ–အာශ්ရမ ဓမ္မအစဉ်အလာအားလုံးကို ကျွန်ုပ် ကြားနာပြီး သိမြင်နားလည်ပြီးပါပြီ။ ယခု ပရမဟံသ ပရိဗ္ရာဇက (လှည့်လည်သံဃာ) ၏ လက္ခဏာကို သိလိုပါသည်။ မည်သူက ထွက်ခွာလှည့်လည်ရန် အရည်အချင်းရှိသနည်း။ ပရိဗ္ရာဇက၏ အမှတ်အသားက ဘာလဲ။ ပရမဟံသဆိုသည် မည်သူနည်း။ ပရိဗ္ရာဇကဖြစ်ခြင်းကို မည်သို့ ရောက်ရှိနိုင်သနည်း။ အားလုံးကို ကျွန်ုပ်အား မိန့်ကြားပါ” ဟု။ ထိုသို့ ဘဂဝန် အာဒီနာရာယဏ မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

Now the Grandsire (Pitāmaha), approaching his own father, Ādi-Nārāyaṇa, bowed and asked: “O Blessed One, from your mouth I have heard, known, and understood the entire sequence of the duties of the social classes and life-stages. Now I wish to know the defining characteristics of the paramahaṃsa wandering renunciant. Who is qualified to wander forth? What is the mark of a wandering renunciant? Who is a paramahaṃsa? How does one attain the state of being a wandering renunciant? Tell me all of that.” Thus spoke the Blessed Ādi-Nārāyaṇa.
