Types of Bhasma and the Method of Wearing Tripuṇḍra

स्त्रीभिस्त्रिपुण्ड्रमलकावधि धारणीयं भस्म द्विजादिभिरथो विधवाभिरेवम् । तद्वत्सदाश्रमवतां विशदाविभूतिर्धार्यापवर्गफलदा सकलाघहन्त्री

မိန်းမတို့သည် နဖူးပေါ် ဆံစည်းအထိ သုံးကြောင်းတံဆိပ် တြိပုဏ္ဍရ (Tripuṇḍra) အဖြစ် သန့်ရှင်းသော ဘတ်စမာ (bhasma) ကို ဆောင်ရမည်။ ထိုနည်းတူ ဗြာဟ္မဏနှင့် နှစ်ကြိမ်မွေးသူတို့လည်း ဆောင်ရမည်၊ မုဆိုးမတို့လည်း ထိုနည်းအတိုင်း ဆောင်ရမည်။ သာသနာတော်အာရှရမ (āśrama) တွင် တည်ကြည်သူတို့အတွက် သန့်စင်သော ဝိဘူတိ (vibhūti) ကို ဆောင်ရခြင်းသည် မောက္ခကို ပေး၍ အပြစ်အားလုံးကို ဖျက်ဆီးသည်။
