The Slaying of Indrajit
भिन्नवर्मारुधिरंवमन्वक्त्रेणरावणिः ।।।।जग्राहकार्मुकश्रेष्ठंदृढज्यंबलवत्तरम् ।
bhinnavarmā rudhiraṃ vaman vaktreṇa rāvaṇiḥ | jagrāha kārmukaśreṣṭhaṃ dṛḍhajyaṃ balavattaram ||
ကာကွယ်ဝတ်စုံ ပျက်ကွဲ၍ ပါးစပ်မှ သွေးထွက်လျက်ရှိသော်လည်း၊ ရာဝဏ၏သား အိန္ဒြဇိတ်သည် မိမိ၏ အကောင်းဆုံး လေးကို ဆုပ်ကိုင်လိုက်သည်—အင်အားကြီး၍ လေးကြိုးတင်းကျပ် ခိုင်မာသော လေးဖြစ်၏။
Bow split, ejecting blood from mouth, Indrajith took his strong best of bows which had a stout string.
The verse reflects kṣatriya-dharma: even when wounded, a warrior continues the duty of battle with resolve and discipline, without abandoning the field.
Indrajit has been hurt and his armour is broken; despite this, he re-arms himself by taking up a superior bow to continue fighting.
